This study compares safety performance between 2 groups of workers in similar jobs, which the main distinguishing factor was the existence or non-existence of an individual productivity bonus payment system (SAPPI). We have tested if there were significant differences in safety performance between the workers that receive productivity awards and those who do not. Data collection relied on the application of a questionnaire specifically developed for this purpose, which was applied for both groups (in a total of 180 individuals) with only different questions according to the existence ou not of a SAPPI in its last part, and on the analysis of the labor accident indicators of the two groups. For data processing, we resorted to the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) and Microsoft Excel. The non parametric tests were the statistical technique used for testing the formulated hypotheses. It was concluded that there are significant differences in safety performance between individuals with and without productivity bonus payment, which were consistent with indicators of Accidents collected.
