Located in the city of Faro, the antique Milling Factory is located next to the Railway Station (CP-Comboios) next to the Ria Formosa. It's an industrial complex founded by Companhia Industrial do Algarve at the beginning of the 20th century, whose architectural characteristics are well established in the block. Nowadays, the Factory is in an advanced stage of degradation and with high levels of pollution, which causes the disappearance of a unique heritage that marked the identity and memory of this place and ends up generating a problem in the relationship between the historic area and the 'new' area of the city. This work is developed through the study of the industrial complex in it's territorial and urban context, through it's historical and morphological evolution together with the city, and at the same time, through the analysis of it's architectural characteristics and it's spatial organization. With the intention of requalifying and valuing the Milling Factory, a rehabilitation is proposed with the change of it's use to a Faculty of Fine Arts, to bring new relevant equipment to the city, including a new urban strategy based on the intervention of the building.
