The goal of this project, FormalWear vs StreetWear: How discrepancy can result in a fusion, aimed to deepen the historical and practical knowledge of the themes of streetwear, formalwear and deconstruction, resulting in a collection/capsule where the deconstruction of iconic pieces of both styles is present. To better understand the styles and the representative pieces of both, a literature review was carried out that focused on their origin/root, going through their dissemination at the social level and concluding in the present day. With this research, it was possible to understand issues that are clearly related to the stated styles, such as the discrepancy/division at the social, aesthetic, diversity, and style levels, but also the stereotyping present in the fashion world. In parallel with the theoretical research, a collection/capsule was developed based on the deconstruction of both styles and the consequent fusion of them in individual pieces, both aesthetically and conceptually, in order to reach both publics (of the different styles), so as to contribute to break the stereotyping present in fashion. The study was done through a non-interventionist methodology, with a qualitative character, having as focal points the research of information about the themes and the creation of pieces.
