Resumo(s)
This dissertation project has two main objectives: First, to offer a research into the panorama of the state of artistic education regarding the art of sound, within the mandatory schooling period, in Portugal. Empirical analysis was geared towards obtaining answers about how curricular and programatic guidelines approach musical education, in the primary and secondary schooling period; and towards a non-systematic search of education projects, which are not formal, and have an alternative/diverse approach in the area of artistic education connected to sound, sound education. In particular, I tried to give special relevance to programs/projects which use new technologies (NT) in education projects in this area. The second objective of this presentation/dissertation/project is to propose the implementation/fulfilment of a sound education project, within the scope of this dissertation, using new technologies as pedagogical tools. The workshop Stop. Do you hear this?... Listen! was implemented in two occasions in the course of this work. The first time was held in a school environment, intended for students of the 2nd year of primary education. The second time, it was implemented in the context of the Lisboa Soa Festival, aimed at children between the ages of 8 and 12, and extended to parents and guardians wishing to accompany the workshop. It was verified that, in arts education, sound is mainly present in music education. However, music education is primarily focused towards training the so-called “classical” music, highlighting the role of the virtuoso instrumentalist musician, neglecting other approaches to musical education, or sound, placing them in a residual spot in the educational panorama. The argument is presented of the educational advantages in encouraging the use of new technologies in music / sound education on primary and secondary school students, in connection with the concepts of active listening, acoustic ecology and critical analysis of the sound environment, as well as with the amplification of contents of music education, to encompass definitions of contemporary music, more connected to sound than to musical note.
