The present dissertation, designed to obtain the Master's degree in Museology and Museography, aims to contribute to an optimization of procedures at the Pharmacy Museum and the respective museological practices. This project follows a recent investment in human resources allocated to the Pharmacy Museum team, by the National Pharmacy Association, as well as a restructuring of the remaining associated areas (cultural agenda, educational services and ticket store), which as a tutelary entity, and in collaboration with the Directorate of the Pharmacy Museum, consider that the Museum may have an improvement in results not only through investment in its permanent technical staff, but also with the optimization of its management instruments. It is proposed, therefore, the implementation of an Incorporation Policy, as an official and essential document for the management of the collection. The dissertation is divided into three chapters, the first of which is the presentation and general presentation of the Pharmacy Museum, along the lines in which it is in operation today. The second chapter deals with the Incorporations Policy as an essential tool for good museum management, from which we move on to the final chapter, in which we present our proposal for Incorporations Policy for the Pharmacy Museum, elaborated from the exhaustive collection, analysis and interpretation of data on the constitution and growth of the respective collection, wishing that it could be useful to the institution, in the sense of its eventual implementation. Considering that the collection of the Pharmacy Museum is regularly expanded with new incorporations, it is intended that this proposal will collaborate as a management tool, enforcing a determination of the Portuguese Museums Framework Law, according to which museological institutions must formulate and approve its own Incorporation Policy (Law no. 47/2004, of 19 August, Article 12).
