Portugal tem vindo a sofrer, em tempos recentes, um intenso processo de despovoamento do interior em prol do litoral, que produz necessariamente consequências linguísticas. Neste trabalho, analisa-se dialetometricamente um corpus exaustivo de fenómenos fonético-fonológicos e morfológicos (ou morfossintáticos) dos dialetos do centro-sul do país, com o objetivo de verificar possíveis efeitos daquele processo no último quartel do século XX. Os resultados demonstram um panorama dialetal conservador e apontam de forma clara as principais personalidades dialetais macro da região.
Portugal has in recent times been undergoing an acute depopulation of the interior part of the country, with a corresponding influx into the coastal region, a process which unavoidably has linguistic consequences. In this paper we use a dialectometrical approach to analyse a comprehensive corpus of phonetic, phonological and morphological (or morphosyntactic) features of Portuguese centralsouthern dialects, with the goal of querying for possible effects of the referred process. The results show a well-established, conservative positioning of those dialects, and allow us to clearly perceive the main dialectal areas of the region.
