A partir desta premissa, apresenta motivações,
Neste
Consequentemente,
Entitled Fotografia Artística Contemporânea: Tendências, Problemáticas e Desafios Curatoriais, the present dissertation reflects on the trajectory of photography towards a flow of digital images that changed the traditional function of the medium. As such, it pays attention to the statements of creators who, despite adversities, continue to promote it as a form of art and a tool to convey ideas. Based on this premise, it presents motives, trends and forms of expression that characterize the contemporary photographic discourse. Subsequently, the research focuses on the importance of the curator as a dynamic figure in the world of art and brings up the metamorphoses that his work underwent and that allowed him to gain his own voice. Then, it addresses the challenges faced by contemporary curatorship, centering on the problems that arise from strategies, modus operandi or specific lines of action. The study also covers the history of curatorship, with a focus on the 20th and the 21st centuries alluding its defining moments. It highlights, next to that, the art of curating contemporary photography. After that, the report makes it possible to reflect on the different phases of the curricular internship that was carried out at the Arquivo Municipal de Lisboa | Fotográfico. In this context, it exposes the steps that led to the curatorial process of a new edition of A Imagem Contextualizada and reveals how the project was a deep immersion in a multifaceted museum narrative. The work also refers to the reinvention of the Sala de Leitura, which housed the exhibition, creating new ways of seeing emerging photography. Finally, the paper underlines the importance given to the table as a way of showcasing the artworks, the organization of the exhibition space into islands and the illumination. It emphasizes, as well, the relevance of close contact between curator and creator, proving the mutual enrichment of sharing ideas, and reveals the urgency of rethinking the flyer with the curatorial statement as a dynamic element of the exhibition.
