Partindo do estudo e da reinterpretação do que é considerado como objeto infraestrutural, da sua relação para com o tecido urbano e de como pode transformar, influenciar, alterar ou até mesmo transfigurar o natural desenvolvimento da cidade enquanto organismo em constante transformação; este projeto final de mestrado tem por objetivo propor um conceito experimental de foro académico de como será possível, hipoteticamente, habitar esse espaço infraestrutural. Relacionando-o com a cidade preexistente, que por um lado sofre com as consequências da presença destes elementos e ao mesmo tempo se mostram essenciais à sua evolução e prosperidade.
É a partir desta premissa que é lançada a temática projetual desta investigação: interpretar e redesenhar a linha infraestrutural - concretamente a linha de caminhos de ferro - ao projetar nela habitação, principalmente de carácter efémero, assente sob uma estrutura flexível e agregada a um programa plurifuncional, de forma a integrar a arquitetura com a cidade e a infraestrutura.
O projeto, pretende assim, repensar o habitar, o conceito que se entende como “casa” no mundo contemporâneo e extrapolar esta ideia desde a escala do objeto à escala da cidade, diversificando-o e moldando-o a várias situações e à forma de como pode ser habitado.
Based on the study and reinterpretation of what is considered an infrastructural object, its relationship with the urban fabric and how it can transform, influence, alter or even transfigure the natural development of the city when considerate as an organism in constant evolution; this master's degree final project aims to propose an experimental academic concept of how the infrastructural space can hypothetically be inhabited, while connecting it with the city, which on one hand suffers from the consequences of these elements but at the same time bring evolution and prosperity to it. It is from this premise that the design theme of this investigation is launched: to interpret and redesign the infrastructural line - specifically the railway line - by directly placing on it housing, mainly of an ephemeral character, with a flexible structure and a multifunctional program, to integrate architecture with the city and the infrastructure itself. The project, therefore, intends to rethink what it can be to inhabit the concept of what we understand a “house” to be in the contemporary world and to extrapolate this concept from the scale of the object to the scale of the city, diversifying it and shaping the project and the way in which it can be inhabited.
