Resumo(s)
This master's thesis in Landscape Architecture focuses on the issue of water as an integrator of material, natural and cultural
landscape realities, and has as its subject the Valley of Avenida Almirante Reis.
It is intended to set an intervention program for the Study Area that considers water the central element in the sustainable
building and reinvention of space, which implies: the local contexture of this resource (eg. Its abundance or scarcity), the
understanding of their dynamics, functioning and articulation in the landscape (eg. How it appears and how it is distributed),
and the knowledge of its influence on the growth/evolution the city of Lisbon.
In this sense, it has been developed methodologies that are based on a holistic and systemic approach of the dynamics of
water, predicting its judicious use and understanding it simultaneously as a motive and motor of the urban design.
