| dc.description.abstract | Este estudo pretende abordar a ascensão política de Marco António. O espaço temporal contemplado é o que vai de 49 a 44 a.C. Depois de uma breve interpretação das fontes, analisaremos as origens da gens Antonia, entrando de seguida no tema central da questão. O trabalho pretende, acima de tudo, uma revisão do papel e actividade de António enquanto homo politicus. A luta dentro da facção cesarista será especialmente enfatizada. O fio condutor da investigação conduzir-nos-á a uma reapreciação das fontes e bibliografia disponíveis sobre o triúnviro. Pretendemos, assim, rever alguns loci communes que formam a communis opinio académica sobre o assunto abordado. Será dado relevo também aos aspectos retórico-literários presentes nas fontes. A historiografia moderna, longe de ter colocado a hermenêutica ao serviço do saber histórico, limitou-se, na maior parte dos casos, a apresentar uma análise literal e anacrónica da imagem de António, tendo descurado a inteligência política do futuro triúnviro. A revisão da caracterização de Marco António num período de “formação política” de António torna-se assim pertinente e obrigatória. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | Abstract: This study intends to approach the political ascension of Mark Antony. The timeline contemplated is 49-44 BC. After a brief interpretation of the sources, we will analyze the origins of the gens Antonia, and, then, entering in the central theme of the question. This work aims most of all, a review of the role and activity of Antony as homo politicus. The struggle inside the Caesarist faction will be especially emphasized. On the other hand, the guiding thread of research shall lead us to an reappraisal of the sources and bibliography available about the triumvir We intend, therefore, to review some loci communes that form the academic communis opinio about the subject matter discussed. It will also be given emphasis to the literaryrhetorical aspects present in the sources. The modern historiography, far from having placed the hermeneutic at the service of historical knowledge, merely, in most cases, presented a literal and anachronistic image analysis about Antony, having neglected the political intelligence of the future triumvir. A review of the characterization of Mark Antony in a period of "political development" of Antony, then becomes pertinent and required. | pt_PT |
