The Alternativa Um Project is a curatorial proposal that aims to revisit and reconsider Alternativa Zero: Tendências Polémicas na Arte Portuguesa Contemporânea, an exhibition considered a milestone in the Portuguese contemporary context, through the memories/testimonies of the participating artists. Ten emerging artists are invited to propose a specific project based on the memories of one of the ten interviewed artists that took part in Alternativa Zero. This project aspires to, more than just homage Alternativa Zero, revisit and furthermore question it, as well as support and divulge emerging national production, not through what could be considered yet another young talent art show, but a specific venture founded on the individual depositions of each interviewed artist
