A cidade de Lisboa viveu na década compreendida entre 2009 e
2019 um pico de projeção internacional enquanto destino turístico,
ao mesmo tempo que o seu mercado de habitação atraiu dinâmicas
globais de procura e de investimento estrangeiro, assistindo-se a uma
intensificação dos processos de gentrificação, turistificação e financeirização da habitação, agudizando um processo de despovoamento
do centro histórico que data de há já 50 anos a esta parte, colocando
em risco a sustentabilidade social deste território.
The city of Lisbon experienced in the decade between 2009 and 2019, a peak of international projection as a tourist destination. At the same time, its housing market attracted global dynamics of demand and foreign investment, witnessing an intensification of processes of gentrification, touristification and financialization of housing. All of this has exacerbated a process of depopulation in the historic centre that dates back 50 years, putting the social sustainability of this territory atrisk.
