A Universidade é uma organização com as suas peculiaridades que a distingue das outras formas de organizações principalmente no que tange a sua responsabilidade em termos de valor e compromisso social. No entanto, a mesma não tem fugido da regra das questões motivadas pelo recesso económico que tem desafiado as modalidades tradicionais de financiamento público que leva as mesmas a encontrarem novas alternativas e estratégias, que passa por uma metamorfose na sua gestão e governação organizacional com perspectivas mais privadas em detrimento da pública. Estas mudanças, que têm consequências internas entre os órgãos colegiais que a constituem, na sua vocação académica e externa afetando no acesso e justiça social, são refletidas neste texto com intuito de que as mudanças devem adequar-se as peculiaridades das instituições no caso do ensino superior. Em termos de metodologia, foram feitas revisões bibliográficas de fontes escritas que versam sobre a gestão e governação no geral e do ensino superior em particular.
The University is an organization with its peculiarities that differs it from other forms of organizations, especially with regard to its responsibility in terms of value and social commitment. However, it has not escaped from the rule the issues motivated by the economic recession that has challenged the traditional modalities of public financing that leads them to find new alternatives and strategies, which undergoes a metamorphosis in their management and organizational governance with more perspectives to the detriment of the public. These changes, which have internal consequences among the collegiate bodies that constitute it, in its academic and external vocation affecting access and social justice, are reflected in this text with the intention that the changes must adapt to the peculiarities of the institutions in the case of teaching higher. In terms of methodology, bibliographic reviews were made of written sources that deal with management and governance in general and higher education in particular.
