This report presents a Didactic Unit that was elaborated and implemented in the discipline of Drawing A, in a class of the 12th year, of the Scientific-Humanistic Course in Visual Arts of the Escola Secundária Manuel Cargaleiro, municipality of Seixal, parish of Amora, within the supervised teaching practice of the master’s in teaching of Visual Arts, through the Zoom platform, in synchronous online teaching. The programmatic content taught is part of the theme of human drawing, having developed a DU focused-on self-portrait. The Didactic Unit was developed to be worked in three distinct phases, based on the proportions and representation of the human face and a notion of the Vitruvius tripartite face. The main objective of the work goes beyond the correct representation of the proportions of the face, calling for an exercise of introspection and reflection, about individual feelings and emotions, as well as in the evaluation of the impacts that the Covid-19 pandemic had on students, in relation who they are and how it has affected them in their "true self", in the "inner self" and in their perception of their "future self". For the realization of this report, the action research methodology was used. To this end, data were collected through direct observation in the different classes and through the completion of questionnaires. After collecting the necessary data, a Didactic Unit was created, structured according to the needs of the class. The results obtained were very satisfactory, the students responded with commitment to the proposed work. It was noticeable the impact that the Covid-19 pandemic had on the different students and how it affected not only their idea of the “current self” but their idealization of the “future self”. It is concluded that the students were able to communicate through drawing emotions and feelings visually and that they were able to self-portray themselves, however, it was noticeable that the greatest difficulty felt by the students was the management and organization of the time dedicated to each phase of the work.
