Resumo(s)

This is a dissertation registered in the Master's degree in Artistic Education at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, Portugal. This research was developed in the cities of Lisbon and Tomar. The creative, autoethnographic and performative experiences I have lived are shared and transformed into a creative act by my students in Brazil, at the Rita de Miranda Henriques state public school in João Pessoa, Paraíba, through remote education, in a search for the creation of a meaningful learning space of Portuguese culture, which throughout the creative process will become a narrative, a story to be told, which we call Casa Portuguesa. The work is theoretically based on the concept of “narrative” developed by Walter Benjamin, which assumes that “narrative” is a story made up of experiences, which includes both the narrator and the listeners. The research has a hybrid methodological strategy, autoethnographic, ethnographic and ethnovirtual. An approach to visual culture in the practice of educational research based on art - A/r/tography, in which a story is told, enabling others to tell theirs. The Portuguese House is built from encounters and exchanges, from relationships and variable associations with public space, with people and artistic elements of museums, heritage sites, and popular festivals, which are transformed by me and my students into a creative act. In this way, we are building a story, performative but also at the same time literary, individual and collective. We are also creating thoughts that are critical and that reflect contemporary times, what affects us, what touches and mobilizes us. A way of learning about the culture of another country in an empathetic way, incorporating the anthropological concept of otherness and thus cultivating culture for peace, affection and contributing to thinking about a more cooperative and inclusive world.
