Abstract(s)
O cognome “Poeta-Viajante” é normalmente atribuído ao poeta japonês Matsuo Bashō (1644-1694), no entanto o termo merece ser sistematizado quanto à sua significação, visto que atribui à viagem o mesmo peso que atribui à poesia. Argumenta-se neste trabalho que essa atribuição seja apenas aparente, que o “Bashō-viajante” esteja subordinado ao “Bashō-poeta” e que as motivações para viajar derivem sobretudo de um sincretismo entre a composição de poesia e a religiosidade do autor. Este trabalho analisa dois motivos para viajar, são eles: 1) Viagem que se motiva com base no desejo de usufruto da atividade de viajar. 2) Viagem que se motiva com base no desejo de usufruto do destino da viagem.
The cognomen of “Travelling-Poet” is usually used to describe the Japanese Poet Matsuo Bashō (1644-1694), however, such term should be systematized, as it implicates that poetry and travelling have the same value in Bashō’s work. This work establishes that such evaluation is only apparent and argues that travelling is conditioned by the desire to compose poetry, in that sense the motives to travel should derive from a syncretism of Poetry and Religion. There are two motives that are analysed: 1) A travel inspired by the desire for the activity of travelling in itself. 2) A travel inspired by the desire for arriving at some particular place.
