Resumo(s)
This dissertation, entitled «Femmage and heritages of female labor», aims to analyze and reflect about the representation of female workmanship and labor in artistic production. It approaches the female identity in the creative contexts throughout history through the perspective of a set of evident ideologies in remission to craft and decorative techniques – collage, assemblage, embroidery, sew, etc. – and to the private and domestic space. It stresses the femmage movement as a criticism synergy of these traditionally feminine activities, giving examples of artists who express these specificities. The practical component reflects the concepts analyzed, based on an individual project with an intimate and biographical narrative load, referring to practices and sensibilities that evoke the female domestic sphere
