O chamado Atlas do marquês de Heliche foi encadernado com o título “Plantas de diferentes Plazas de España, Italia, Flandres y Las Indias” e integra o espólio da secção Handritade Kartverk (vol. 25) do Arquivo Militar de Estocolmo, o Krigsarkivet. Este Atlas foi encomendado no início da década de 1650 por D. Gaspar de Haro y Guzmán, marquês de Heliche e, mais tarde, sétimo marquês del Carpio (1629-1687). Desenhou-o Leonardo de Ferrari, um relativamente obscuro pintor bolonhês residente em Madrid. O trabalho foi entregue ao marquês em 1655.
The so-called Atlas of the Marquis of Heliche was bound with the title ‘Plants of different Plazas in Spain, Italy, Flandres and Indias’ and is part of the collection of the Handritade Kartverk section (vol. 25) of the Stockholm Military Archive, the Krigsarkivet. This Atlas was commissioned in the early 1650s by D. Gaspar de Haro y Guzmán, Marquis of Heliche and, later, seventh Marquis del Carpio (1629-1687). Leonardo de Ferrari, a relatively obscure Bolognese painter residing in Madrid, designed it. The work was handed over to the marquis in 1655.
