O desporto está sujeito a determinadas regras e associado a valores como a verdade, a lealdade, a imparcialidade e a justiça. Este é um setor em crescimento, com impacto relevante, tanto ao nível social como ao nível económico. No entanto, o desporto tem sido ameaçado pelos vários casos de corrupção desportiva que se têm verificado a nível global, uma vez que são praticados atos suscetíveis de alterar, de forma fraudulenta, uma competição desportiva ou até o respetivo resultado. Com esta dissertação pretende-se analisar os casos mais relevantes, que sucederam na Europa, no que concerne à corrupção desportiva e, ainda, de que forma os respetivos regimes jurídicos dão resposta ao problema. Para isto, procuramos compreender o que são estes crimes e em que situações se encontram verificados. Por fim, apresentaremos algumas lacunas e especificidades legais da corrupção desportiva, no contexto da repressão da corrupção em geral e, por último, algumas propostas de melhoria.

However, sport has been threatened by the various cases of sports corruption that have taken place globally, as acts susceptible to fraudulently altering a sporting competition or even its result. This dissertation aims to analyze the most relevant cases of sports corruption that have taken place in Europe and how the respective legal systems respond to the problem. To do this, we will try to understand what these crimes are and in what situations they occur. Finally, we will present some legal shortcomings and specificities of sports corruption in the context of the repression of corruption in general and, finally, some improvement proposals.
