A Dificuldade Intelectual e Desenvolvimental é caraterizada pela existência de limitações
significativas no que diz respeito ao intelecto, comportamento adaptativo, manifestando-se
antes dos 18 anos de idade. Apesar de toda a estigmatização e segregação, hoje em dia,
são verificadas face a estes indivíduos, atitudes e expectativas mais positivas, onde o seu
papel como cidadãos ativos na sociedade está cada vez menos associado a uma utopia.
O objetivo do presente relatório passa por caraterizar a experiência vivenciada dentro de
uma instituição, bem como compreender o impacto de um plano de intervenção realizado
a dois grupos e a um estudo de caso. Os instrumentos de avaliação utilizados foram criados
pela estagiária com base noutros instrumentos já existentes. Foram delineados objetivos
específicos para cada caso, consoante as suas áreas fortes e a melhorar. Após a avaliação
final, verificou-se que a maioria dos resultados dos grupos e do estudo de caso foram
mantidos. Concluiu-se que o período de intervenção deve ser maior, de modo a possibilitar
uma melhor consistência no trabalho desenvolvido. Em paralelo, deve ser objetivado um
plano de intervenção focado nas necessidades e interesses de cada indivíduo, o que
contribuirá para a promoção de uma maior autonomia, independência e funcionalidade
destes nos variados contextos.
Intellectual and Developmental Disability is characterized by the existence of significant limitations with respect to intellect, adaptive behavior and manifesting before the age of 18. Despite all the stigmatization and segregation, nowadays, more positive attitudes and expectations are verified to these individuals, where their role as active citizens in society is less associated to a utopia. The purpose of this report is to characterize the experience lived within an institution, as well as to understand the impact of an intervention plan carried out by two groups and a case study. The assessment instruments used were created by the intern based on other existing instruments. Specific objectives were outlined for each case, depending on their strengths and to improve. The instruments used were created by the intern, based on other existing instruments. After the final evaluation, it was found that most of the results of the groups and the case study were maintained. It was concluded that the intervention period should be longer, in order to allow a better consistency in the work developed. At the same time, an intervention plan focused on the needs and interests of each individual must be aimed at, which will contribute to the promotion of greater autonomy, independence and functionality in the various contexts
