| dc.description.abstract | This research project has as its starting point the relationship between contemporary art and related publications. It is intended to explore how the tangent intersections of both disciplines contribute to their practice and expansion in contemporary times. It is also intended to defend that artist's books and author's publications in the arts, in their multiple aspects, are also art objects -autonomous and independent. Born from artistic projects, books can be independent, and vice versa (there are also exhibitions that are born from books). The idea is to explore the importance of these meetings and the projects born together - in art and book publishing. It was important for us to reflect from a historical perspective and, later, a more current one, on the fusion between these two worlds that expand and nourish each other, and to demonstrate how they flow into an expanded field that houses both, insisting on their constant multidisciplinarity and enlargement and, above all, autonomy in the field of publications. The body of this project is divided into two phases: a theoretical one in which an international and national historical contextualization of the birth of the book as an artistic practice is carried out, intending to defend its autonomy as an art object; and a practice one - the realization of an experimental project of curatorship and editorial design, in an exhibition curated by the author and in the elaboration of three publications with the artists, which are interpreted as autonomous and independent objects, as artistic pieces that expand the exhibition , instead of cataloguing or documenting it; going through all the steps of work and collaboration that the process implied, and inhabiting these places as a source of discovery and knowledge in the field. | pt_PT |
