Este trabalho de projeto debruça-se sobre as memórias da casa de infância, das casas onde se viveu, como mote para a criação artística. A investigação partiu da minha prática artística, com o desenvolvimento de um projeto gráfico em desenho, tendo como grande objetivo obter uma visão mais alargada das formas como as memórias pessoais da infância e as memórias dos locais que habitámos podem ser utilizadas e exploradas na arte. A investigação divide-se em três partes. A primeira apresenta o trabalho artístico em desenho. A segunda parte tem como objetivos: compreender o funcionamento da memória; analisar as relações memória/identidade e memória/esquecimento; refletir sobre a evolução dos conceitos de casa e lar; investigar as relações entre a construção da identidade e as memórias da casa de infância; examinar alguns exemplos das diversas formas como a casa integra o imaginário artístico na arte contemporânea. São abordadas as funções e processos da memória, com contributos da psicologia, filosofia e neurociência, e das suas relações com a formação da identidade através do pensamento de John Locke, Thomas Reid e Paul Ricoeur, bem como a importância do esquecimento na criação e manutenção de memórias. É feita uma revisão histórica da evolução dos conceitos de casa/lar, bem como as relações entre casa de infância, memória e construção da identidade. São analisadas obras de artistas contemporâneos que exploram a relação entre os conceitos de memória e de casa. A terceira parte consiste numa reflexão sobre o meu trabalho artístico, as suas raízes, o seu desenvolvimento e as formas como a pesquisa anterior possibilitou crescimento pessoal.
This project focuses on memories of childhood homes, of the houses where we lived, as a theme for artistic creation. The research started from my artistic practice, with the development of a graphic design project, with the main objective of obtaining a broader view of the ways in which personal memories of childhood and memories of the places we lived can be used and explored in art. The research is divided into three parts. The first presents the artistic work in drawing. The second part aims to: understand how memory works; analyze the relationships between memory/identity and memory/forgetting; reflect on the evolution of the concepts of house and home; investigate the relationships between identity construction and memories of childhood homes; examine some examples of the various ways in which the house integrates the artistic imagination into contemporary art. The functions and processes of memory are addressed, with contributions from psychology, philosophy, and neuroscience, and their relationships with the formation of identity through the thinking of John Locke, Thomas Reid, and Paul Ricoeur, as well as the importance of forgetting in the creation and maintenance of memories. The third part consists of a reflection on my artistic work, its roots, its development, and the ways in which previous research has enabled personal growth.
