O jornalismo desenvolvido para a Web surgiu no início dos anos 90 e, após quase duas décadas de história, os jornais online são ainda produtos em elaboração e aperfeiçoamento que passam por constantes e significativas transformações. O presente trabalho tem como preocupação central averiguar a opinião dos utilizadores da Cidade da Praia (Cabo Verde) têm quanto à estrutura, design e recursos multimédia que os jornais em online em Cabo Verde usam para apresentar o seu produto final. Igualmente, propõe sistematizar conhecimentos que não só viabilizam a compreensão do fenómeno, mas também possam contribuir para estudos mais específicos sobre o assunto. Ao longo de toda a investigação, o trabalho de pesquisa bibliográfica é complementado por exemplos empíricos que, em alguns momentos, apenas ilustram, mas em outros, sustentam a reformulação do conteúdo do trabalho. Neste sentido, a tese assume especial importância, através da apresentação da análise do discurso de quatro websites e um inquérito feito aos utilizadores. O estudo demonstra que, apesar da avaliação positiva que os utilizadores fazem, os websites no arquipélago ainda têm um caminho a percorrer, tendo em vista a melhoria da qualidade dos conteúdos apresentados.
Journalism developed for the Web comes at the beginning of the 90s and, after two decade of history, online newspapers are still work in progress, and improvement to go through constant and significant changes. The present work has as a central concern to ascertain the views of users about the structure, design and multimedia resources that newspapers online in Cabo Verde resort to present final product. Also, this thesis proposes to systematize knowledge that not only enable the understanding of the phenomenon, but may also contribute to more specific studies on the subject. Throughout the investigation, the research literature is complemented by empirical examples that not only illustrate, but in others cases, support the redesign of the work content. In this sense, the thesis is of particular importance, through the presentation of discourse analysis of four sites and a user survey. The study show that despite the positive assessment of users, the websites in the country still has a ways to go, with a view to improving the quality of contents.
