A prática, tanto de organizações internacionais, tais como: a Organização
das Nações Unidas, o Banco Mundial e o Fundo Monetário Internacional, como
ainda dos países considerados individualmente vai no sentido de estimular o
desenvolvimento de regimes políticos democráticos nos países menos
desenvolvidos e também naqueles em desenvolvimento, como forma de melhorar
esse mesmo desenvolvimento.
O presente trabalho pretende averiguar a possível relação entre
democracia e crescimento económico, mais especificamente visa saber qual a
influência que a democracia, tomada como variável independente terá sobre o
crescimento económico, entendida como variável dependente. A conclusão
possível é a de que não há consenso sobre esse assunto, uma vez que há estudos
que indicam uma relação positiva entre aquelas variáveis, outros que indicam
uma relação negativa e outros ainda, uma relação de indiferença entre aquelas
variáveis.
É realizada uma aplicação econométrica aos casos de Cabo Verde e de
São Tomé e Príncipe.
The practice, as much of intemationals organizations like as United Nations, World Bank and International Monetary Fund, and many countries go to the direction to stimulate the development of democracy in less development countries, like a form to improve that same economic development. This work claims to lash the relationship between democracy and economic growth. More specifically, it wants to know what influence has the democracy on the economic growth in Africa. After the work ready, we can say there isn't consensus about the influence of democracy on economic growth. Because, there are many authors that think, there is a positive relationship between those variables. Others authors, think there is a negative relationship, and other yet, think there isn't any relationship between the same variables. At last, in the study is done a econometric analysis to the countries. Cape Verde and São Tomé e Príncipe.
