Resumo(s)
Games and play are significant insofar as they contain a social and human function. In this century, in an increasingly systemic and interconnected society, trials of the insertion of game mechanics associated with everyday events are beginning to gain relevance. Ludification, which is distinguished from gamification because it is a broader concept, offers the possibility of holistically analyzing culture and its daily manifestations through the lens of playfulness. It consists of acts of playfulness appropriating the world and its structures to make them more ambiguous. Its use for a critical purpose, critical play, and communicational, civic media, is analyzed and deepened in the body of the dissertation, in order to offer a globalizing view of its historical development and possible future application. This highlights the disruptive nature of play, and its ability to demystify behaviors, technologies and situations taken for granted. In this dissertation will be presented the project Labirinto Urbano [Urban Maze]. This project, which explores the concept of ludification and how it can be used in the urban and civic communication process, started from an initial research question, how can ludification be used to unlock situations of social exclusion? In this context, it started from the investigation of literature in the area and existing projects to inquire the concept of unitary urbanism in a direction towards the playful city. The investigation culminated in the creation and production of the Labirinto Urbano project, which contributes to a playful language and aims at the practical applicability of the state-of-the-art concepts exposed in the first chapter of the research. Thus, the dissertation LABIRINTO URBANO, Ludificação como forma de comunicação cívica e urbana [URBAN MAZE, Ludification as a form of civic and urban communication], proposes an exploratory methodology, based on arts-based research, in which, theory and practice intermingle into the creation of a concrete project that targets improve of people's lives in public space.
