Resumo(s)

Deleuze thinks aesthetics as a philosophy of Nature, as a philosophy of the self- expressive properties of the natural forms. Art starts with territorial marks. These do not refer back neither to a subject or a sensation which would capture them and turn them as marks, nor to an object which would just be nothing more than expression of those marks. “Art is fundamentally poster, placard. As Lorenz says, coral fish are posters” (A Thousand Plateaus, p. 348). These marks are artistic events because they are expressive, because they draw new territories. And these territories are artistic precisely because they are originally expressions, signatures. In this paper, I’ll try to understand the huge extension of this deleuzian definition of art. At same time, I will give special attention to the case of territorial animals. A final observation is attempted concerning what could it mean bioart from a deleuzian point of view.
