Parenting can represent a period of increased stress, affecting the well-being of fathers/mothers and the quality of the parental relationship. Interventions in relational savoring in different relationships have shown improvements in relational satisfaction and a decrease in negative affect. In parenting, the literature in this area is still scarce. To build, implement and evaluate a pilot intervention in relational savoring, a systematic review of the literature on this type of intervention was carried out using the PRISMA methodology. Three articles met the inclusion criteria, two on specific interventions in relational savoring and one on a module integrated into a broader intervention. These interventions and the recommendations in the literature on the development and evaluation of interventions informed the construction of a brief intervention, with online and group implementation, applied to 15 Portuguese mothers (M = 39.80, SD = 4.80) of preschool and school-aged children. Adopting a quasi-experimental design with pre-and post-test, without a control group, we evaluated the effects of the intervention on the mothers' beliefs, perceived relational savoring capacity, positive and negative affect, well-being and satisfaction with the relationship. The graphical analysis of the paired data revealed, after the intervention, a pattern of increased perceived ability to use relational savoring strategies, positive affect, well-being, and satisfaction with the relationship, and a decrease in negative affect. Reminiscence relational savoring beliefs did not evolve after the intervention. However, the mean differences found were not statistically significant. The results suggest that brief interventions in relational savoring may have a positive role in the perception of savoring capacity, affect, well-being and satisfaction with the parental relationship. This preliminary study contributes to a better understanding of savoring interventions' direct and indirect impacts on parenting.
