Abstract(s)

Este artigo apoia-se na análise descritiva da funcionalidade das comunidades virtuais que se constituem nas redes sociais da Internet utilizadas por imigrantes brasileiros residentes em Portugal. O objetivo é refletir sobre a Internet como um “ciberespaço” onde esses atores sociais se esforçam em apropriar-se da ideia de construção/reconstrução da identidade brasileira, manutenção de afetos, reagrupamento social, superação dos discursos institucionais, interação entre as nacionalidades brasileira e portuguesa e novas formas culturais de comunicação online.

The research relies on the descriptive analysis of the functionality of virtual communities on the Internet Social Network used by Brazilian immigrants living in Portugal. The aim is to think on the Internet as a “cyberspace” where one can take ownership on the idea of building/ rebuilding Brazilian identity, affect maintenance, social family, overcoming institutional discourse, interaction between the Brazilian and Portuguese nationalities and new cultural forms of online communication.
