Este trabalho centra-se no estudo dos casamentos na corte de Portugal e da China nos séculos XIV e XV. Através da análise de estudos recentes sobre o sistema matrimonial, busca-se compreender as práticas de casamento nas cortes portuguesa e chinesa da época, tal como as trajectórias de poder na realeza em Portugal, e os critérios de seleção para imperatrizes na China, e os rituais e cerimoniais envolvidos. Apesar das diferenças das formas de casamento na Corte entre os dois países, o casamento desempenhava um papel crucial e era influenciado pela política do tempo. Através da análise de estudos comparativos, é possível obter uma compreensão mais aprofundada da vida na corte em Portugal e na China durante séculos XIV e XV, bem como dos inerentes rituais de casamento.
This work focuses on the study of marriages at the courts of Portugal and China in the 14th and 15th centuries. Through the analysis of recent studies on the matrimonial system, we seek to understand the marriage practices at the Portuguese and Chinese courts of the time, as well as the power trajectories in Portuguese royalty, the selection criteria for empresses in China, and the rituals and ceremonies involved. Despite the differences in marriage forms at the court between the two countries, marriage played a crucial role and was influenced by the politics of the time. Through the analysis of comparative studies, it is possible to obtain a deeper understanding of court life in Portugal and China during the 14th and 15th centuries, as well as the inherent marriage rituals.
