ABSTRACT: The Portuguese Province of the Sisters of Saint Dorothy exists since the 19th century. Saint Paula Frassinetti, the foundress of this congregation, had the ideal of educating through the way of the heart and love. The Dorothean Sisters concretized, gradually, this ideal in their own educational model, receiving a strong influence from the model the Jesuits had developed. This innovative model was put in practice in the several schools spread around Portugal and Angola. The aim of this master thesis is to understand and systematize this educational model.
