Abstract(s)
This internship report's primary goal is to present and analyse the academic internship that took place at the IKEA Portugal - Móveis e Decoração Lda headquarters, between October 2021 and February 2022, as a part of the Translation Master’s degree at Faculdade de Letras da Universidade de Lisboa (FLUL). The main theme of this internship was Localisation, which resulted in different projects dedicated to the Localisation, Translation, Proofreading and Postediting of internal communication content (exclusive to IKEA Portugal co-workers), and external communication content aimed for the IKEA Portugal website and app, and occasionally for in-store content. The report has been divided into three main chapters. The first chapter starts with an overview of the host organisation, followed by a description of the internship and the type of work conducted. The second chapter aims to be a theoretical framework for Translation and Localisation, in order to provide the readers with some important topics and concepts. The third and last chapter consists of the internship report itself, where there will be a more in-depth description of the projects that were carried out, along with some reflections about the challenges and problems that I came across during the course of this internship.
