Apresenta-se um troço ribeirinho da muralha tardia de Felicitas Iulia Olisipo (Lisboa), caracterizado pelo adossamento a muros preexistentes e pela reutilização massiva de spolia no paramento externo. Alguns destes materiais são provenientes da antiga periferia funerária, eventualmente da necrópole localizada junto à “Via Norte” de Olisipo, local onde foi documentada a desmontagem sistemática de monumentos funerários, no final do século III d.C.
The following paper presents a riverside section of the Late-Roman wall of Felicitas Iulia Olisipo (Lisbon), characterized by the addition to pre-existing walls and with a manifest reuse of spolia in the external wall. Some of these materials come from from the ancient funerary periphery, possibly from the necropolis located next to Olispo’s “Via Norte”, where the systematic dismantling of funerary monuments is well documented, dating from the late 3rd century AD.
