Espaços construídos, símbolos e ritos da morte das Antigas Sociedades Camponesas no Extremo Sul de Portugal: Algumas reflexões sob forma de sete QMF

dc.description.abstractEl extremo sur de Portugal forma una región a veces conocida como El Algarve, pero cuya unidad geográfica es sólo aparente al referirse al Neolítico. En lo referente al megalitismo, más concretamente, existe un fenómeno específico en los yacimientos cistoides de Monchique, sin paralelos relevantes en el oeste peninsular. Los dólmenes, tholoi e hipogeos se distribuyen asimismo según complejas órbitas de influencia, algunas atribuidas al medio y bajo Alentejo y otras a Andalucía. Entre tan variadas influencias debería haber lugar para la individualidad, que no parece muy evidente a excepción de Monchique y de la arquitectura de Nora y Marcela. Antes de dedicarse a otras cuestiones con menor número de respuestas, el autor selecciona siete qmf (las preguntas más frecuentemente formuladas) referidas a los espacios construidos, los símbolos y los rituales de la muerte en las antiguas sociedades campesinas del extremo sur de Portugal: 1. ¿Existe una secuencia cronológica-cultural en el megalitismo del Algarve que sea detectable por medio de una cronología absoluta?, 2. ¿Qué son las necrópolis de Monchique?, 3. ¿Es autónomo e independiente el megalitismo ortostático del extremo sur?, 4.- ¿De dónde proceden las placas de pizarra grabadas de los monumentos del Algarve?, 5. ¿Se originan los artefactos votivos de piedra caliza en el Mediterráneo o la Península de Lisboa?, 6. ¿Reflejan los hipogeos una influencia andaluza?, 7. ¿Están relacionados los tholoi de Alcalar y el este del Algarve con los del Alentejo? Para concluir, “... incluso cuando un fenómeno tiene una única explicación inmediata y ‘verdadera’, el hecho de que generalmente lo desconozcamos puede dar lugar a varias y legítimas posturas paralelas, tantas como pueda corresponder a las observaciones documentadas que se pueda tener del mismo”.pt_PT
dc.description.abstractThe Extreme South of Portugal forms a natural region, sometimes known as Algarve, but whose geographic unity, when referring to the Neolithic, is only apparent. Regarding megalithism, especially, there is a specific phenomenon in the cist-like graves of Monchique, without a parallel in the West of the Peninsula; dolmens, tholoi and hypogea are also distributed according to complex orbits of influence, some attributed to the middle and lower Alentejo, others to Andalusia. Amongst such distinct influences, there ought to be room for individuality (of which, except for Monchique and the architecture of Nora and Marcela, not much seems evident). The author selects seven faq (most frequently asked questions) concerning built spaces, symbols, and the rituals of dead in ancient peasant societies of the Extreme South of Portugal (1. Is there a chronologico-cultural sequence in the Algarve megalithism detectable through an absolute chronology? 2. What are the Monchique necropolises? 3. Is the orthostatic megalithism of the Extreme South autonomous and independent? 4. Where do the engraved schist plaques of the Algarve monuments come from? 5. Do the votive limestone artefacts originate in the Mediterranean or the Lisbon Peninsula? 6. Do hypogea reflect an Andalusian influence? 7. Are the tholoi of Alcalar and the eastern Algarve related with the Alentejo?), before turning to other questions and fewer answers. To conclude, “… even when a phenomenon eventually has only one explanation, immediate and “true”, the fact that one generally doesn’t know it may give rise to several and legitimate parallel lives. As many as may correspond to the number of times one’s informed vision may focus upon it.”.pt_PT
