sensorial e espiritual.

For this intervention, the study of the history and the city’s context was essential, as well as the analysis of the Mozambican way of (inter)acting. This is reflected in the entire project, namely in the need to reinvent vernacular architecture and to integrate a bioclimatic strategy in a tropical architecture. It was also essential to analyse and to understand how the compositional palette of an architectural object may influence the way we live a space as a sensory and spiritual experience. Through the study of the previously described elements the importance of one of the protagonists of this project was revealed as an essential element both at the bioclimatic level and regarding the Mozambican way of living - the shadow and its silence. Thus and considering the aforementioned objectives, in addition to the urban plan, two religious equipments will be developed, a church and a mosque, in a way that will reflect the desire of requalification, the need of a spiritual refuge recognized by the community as a way of assembling the people with their city, as well as the creation of a physical and spiritual refuge, influenced by the spatial experiencie, where the path, the shadow and the silence are the protagonists.
