Given the current complex, competitive and changing environment of the corporate world, it is increasingly important to study the variables that affect the well-being and satisfaction of the employees. Noteworthy is the study of temporal perspective and its influence on the individuals’ behaviours, which has been linked to positive and negative consequences, including satisfaction with the different life domains, and feelings of dissatisfaction such as the turnover intention. The main goal of this research is to study temporal perspective, satisfaction with life roles, and turnover intention, and the relation between these variables according to sex and age. The Shortened Version of the Zimbardo Time Perspective Inventory – Revised, the Satisfaction with Life Roles Scale, and the Turnover Intention Scale were applied on a random sample of 119 working adults. The results confirmed the relation between the variables, revealing that individuals who make greater use of the Past Negative dimension tend to manifest lower levels of satisfaction with life roles and greater levels of turnover intention, while those who make greater use of the Past Positive or Future show higher levels of satisfaction with life roles. The results also showed an inverse relation between satisfaction with life roles and turnover intention, and significant differences according to the variables sex and age. Finally, limitations and contributions of this research are presented, as well as implications for organizational practices and suggestions for future studies.
