O presente relatório descreve o estágio de 352 horas realizado na Buggin Media, Lda., com início no dia 20 de setembro de 2021 e término no dia 20 de dezembro de 2021. Uma vez que o estágio se focou essencialmente na Tradução Audiovisual (TAV), nomeadamente na área da legendagem e da dobragem, o presente relatório começa por apresentar um breve enquadramento teórico sobre a área da tradução, descrevendo os principais desafios desta área e as principais estratégias que costumam ser aplicadas neste ramo, seguindo-se uma introdução à TAV, com especial destaque para a legendagem e a dobragem, assim como às principais diferenças entre estas duas modalidades. A segunda parte do relatório foca-se essencialmente na descrição do estágio, apresentando uma breve descrição da entidade de acolhimento, da dinâmica e metodologia de trabalho que se adotou no decorrer do estágio, dos projetos realizados e dos recursos utilizados na realização desses mesmos projetos. Na última parte do trabalho e na mais extensa, identificam-se e discutem-se questões de tradução e desafios que surgiram durante a realização dos projetos realizados ao longo do estágio, tanto no âmbito de tarefas de tradução para legendagem, como de tarefas de tradução para dobragem. Esta parte do trabalho organiza-se em torno de exemplos selecionados, partindo de casos concretos para a identificação dos fenómenos envolvidos, e da discussão das soluções que foram aplicadas, constituindo assim uma reflexão em torno das complexidades destas duas modalidades da TAV.
This report describes the internship that took place in Buggin Media, Lda., which started on the 20th of September 2021 and ended on the 21st of December 2021, covering a total of 352 hours. As the internship was mainly focused on Audiovisual Translation (AVT) – namely subtitling and dubbing – this report will begin with a brief theoretical overview of the field of translation, describing its main challenges and the main strategies that are usually applied to it, followed by an introduction to AVT, particularly focusing on subtitling and dubbing, as well as their main differences. The second part of the report will essentially focus on describing the internship, by briefly describing the host company, the work routine and methodology adopted during the internship, the projects that were carried out and the resources that were used throughout those projects. The last and most extensive part of this report will discuss the main challenges that occurred while carrying out the internship projects, both in the context of subtitling and dubbing. This part is structured around selected examples, based on actual occurrences which help identify the phenomena at issue, and it also discusses the solutions that have been applied, thus reflecting on the complexities of these two types of AVT.
