Este trabalho debruça-se sobre a Refinaria de Matosinhos e Leça da Palmeira, numa trajetória iniciada na FCTUC, onde o tema Cabo do Mundo 21 - Projeto para uma Cidade Pós-Carbono e Pós-Pandemia propõe à turma finalista, os possíveis cenários para uma nova cidade sustentável. O presente Projeto Final de Mestrado intitula-se Projetar ±65 – A Biblioteca como ponte entre gerações em Matosinhos, propondo para a cidade, um equipamento de serviço público que fomente a relação multigeracional.
A análise e a representação urbana são essenciais para compreender a condição industrial de Matosinhos e os seus impactos na vida quotidiana. Na paisagem, os vazios industriais são evidentes e comprometem a continuidade da malha urbana, deixando ao território, uma oportunidade estratégica para a apropriação de novos espaços com uma identidade singular.
Assim, dois programas – A Universidade Sénior e o Jardim de Infância - distintos e complementares, contribuem para a relação multigeracional, convergindo no programa da Biblioteca
Como objetivo, o programa deve preservar a memória industrial da refinaria, sendo uma solução de remate regeneradora para os espaços negligenciados da freguesia. No Entre o Jardim de Infância e a Universidade Sénior, a Biblioteca será o elemento protagonista, que estabelecerá um lugar-comum entre dois grupos etários distintos, atuando como uma verdadeira ponte entre gerações.
This work focuses on the Matosinhos and Leça da Palmeira Refinery, in a trajectory started at FCTUC, where the theme Cabo do Mundo 21 - Project for a Post-Carbon and Post-Pandemic City proposes to the finalist class, the possible scenarios for a new sustainable city. The present Master's Final Project is entitled Projetar ±65 - The Library as a bridge between generations in Matosinhos, proposing for the city, a public service equipment that promotes the multigenerational relationship. Analysis and urban representation are essential to understand the industrial condition of Matosinhos and its impacts on everyday life. In the landscape, industrial voids are evident and compromise the continuity of the urban fabric, leaving the territory a strategic opportunity for the appropriation of new spaces with a unique identity. Thus, two distinct and complementary programs - The Senior University and the Kindergarten - contribute to the multigenerational relationship, converging on the Library's program. As an objective, the program must preserve the industrial memory of the refinery, being a regenerative solution for the neglected spaces of the parish. In Between Kindergarten and Senior University, the Library will be the protagonist, which will establish a common place between two different age groups, acting as a true bridge between generations.
