propriedades formativas, informativas e transformativas destas artes. Finalmente, o
The thesis offers a transdisciplinary vision for the study and investigation of performing arts, and namely for this case study. Starting with a brief critical reflexion on the cultural contemporary context and the nature and evolution of the concept of performing arts, we analyse the Messages of the World Theatre Day and the International Dance Day, promoted by the International Theatre Institute – World Organization for the Performing Arts. Then, and after the clarification of the concepts of Transdisciplinarity and Arts-Based Research, concrete examples are given of a group of transdisciplinarity research and of a BA degree in performing arts, where it was possible to foster a relational dynamic between the formative, informative and transformative properties of these arts. Finally, the author who assumes himself as an artist, researcher and teacher, exercises a reflexive attitude on his own path, in a perspective of knowledge production and contribution to this emerging area of studies.
