A man was admitted in the emergency room for asthenia, myalgias, diffuse abdominal pain, weight loss for six months and papular rashes. The patient was known to have HIV infection and did not comply with therapy. Analytically he presented: Haemoglobin 92 g/L; white blood cells 2.3Ć109 /L; platelets count 19Ć109 /L; alanine aminotransferase 28u/L; aspartate aminotransferase 102 u/L; bilirubin 1.67 mg/L; lactate dehydrogenase 236u/L; ferritin 1481ng/mL; C-reactive protein 693.3 nmol/L and procalcitonin 5.67ng/mL.
