panfletos e cartazes. Outras implicações do estudo, assim como limitações e possíveis
direcções futuras são ainda apontadas.
The scientific community has lately been interested in the study of marital relations, taking into account the importance of its quality in individual well -being as well as the increasing number of divorces. Several countries there are being developed relationship education (RE) programs aiming to improve the skills by couples before potential crises and disruptions occur, with all the implications that this entails for the individual and his environment. However, little is known concerning their attitudes and expectations of the couples regarding RE progrmas and this factor can be of the essencial to improve those existing programs and to implement and create of new programs in relational prevention area. Trough semi-structured interviews, we tried to understand the perceptions of nine young Portuguese couples regarding RE, that were analised according to the results and investigations in that area. Summarizing the results, the couples present favorable attitudes towards participation in a RE program and also point out possible obstacles towards participation (such as the cost, the lack of knowledge and prejudice regarding these initiatives and the possible inhibition of some participants in group formats); they also consider important to include themes related to relational processes such as communication, and management of daily questions; concerning the structure, it seems to be an asset, the group format and group sharing, such as the possibility to be in contact with examples and experiences of other couples participants and external to the program, they emphasize the importance to have a flexible schedule and time of the program, suggesting also the inclusion of more informal moments; as for the team is concerned, the couples point out the the benefit of multidisciplinarity and the possibility of having couples facilitating the program; finally, regarding the marketing and dissemination, couples referred to be essential to publicize the initiative in online platforms, using, for example, the social networks, and also through comunications, flyers and posters, disposed in places frequented by young people.
