The work developed at TEATRO MAIZUM, was done as part of a training within the Master in Art History and Heritage and is part of a specific case study: the documentary collection inventory. With this work, which had as its fundamental topic the beginning of a process of inventorying such a valuable organized collection, it was intended to highlight an heritage and a work whose purpose is relevant to the history of the Portuguese Theatre. The defined objective was the organization of a structured program to inventory and study the funds resulting from the forty years of artistic activity of the theatre company. In addition to following a natural approach between Theatrical Studies and Art History, as it is in this context that the collection in question must be investigated, it was a question of applying to the heterogeneous set of archives the methodologies known and adopted when historical and artistic assets are registered. Then we will be able to build the most solid foundations on which a future survey of the specimens we had access and the treatment of archival materials will be based. It should be noted that these are very varied and distinct, as they include shows programs, editions of works performed, critical reviews, costumes, props, photographs, films, invitations, stage designs, as well as administrative and execution archives of the different artistic productions, and diverse notes. If properly analyzed, recorded and grouped following a consistent and effective organization, this will allow, in the future, through the cataloging, the appropriate study and analysis of the same documentation by the researchers. Given the specificity of this artistic production, which, as mentioned, reflects an interdisciplinary intersection of various areas of creation and performance, proposals for analytical-descriptive inventory sheets were tested, which we think may be adapted to the nature and heterogeneity of this fund.
