O conhecimento dos profissionais da saúde sobre o tema legado digital : um estudo exploratório em serviços de cuidados paliativos no Brasil e em Portugal

A sociedade contemporânea está cada vez mais interligada pela Internet e as pessoas agora armazenam seus bens de ordem afetiva, pessoal, intelectual e de valor monetário em plataformas de mídias online. Neste contexto, surge um novo conceito nomeado legado digital. Este engloba um conjunto de registros e informações pessoais armazenados em plataformas fornecedoras de mídias. Contudo e mediante a esta nova forma de armazenamento, questiona- se qual é o destino desses bens após a morte do usuário. Neste sentido, os profissionais da saúde que trabalham junto a pacientes que estão sendo assistidos em serviços de cuidados paliativos podem ter um papel fundamental, auxiliando esses pacientes na tomada de decisão sobre seus bens digitais, fornecendo informações e orientações sobre as normas e possibilidades de destino para esses bens. No entanto, esses profissionais precisam ter o devido conhecimento sobre o tema legado digital para orientar seus pacientes de forma apropriada. Este estudo teve por objetivo investigar o conhecimento dos profissionais da saúde que atuam em serviços de cuidados paliativos no Brasil e em Portugal sobre o tema legado digital. É um estudo quantitativo, do tipo descritivo e transversal. O instrumento utilizado foi um questionário com quatro blocos de perguntas, que permitiram caracterizar o perfil sociodemográfico dos participantes, avaliar o conhecimento sobre o tema legado digital, o envolvimento com a temática no ambiente de trabalho e a necessidade de formação. A recolha de informação decorreu entre fevereiro e julho de 2020, de forma online. A amostra foi constituída por 243 profissionais, a maioria dos quais pertencendo ao gênero feminino, com idade média de 46 anos. Os resultados indicam que os profissionais possuem pouco conhecimento sobre o tema legado digital. Há um défice de conhecimento sobre o conceito, as normas e aspectos éticos que permeiam a temática. Também constatou-se que os profissionais que atuam em cuidados paliativos, no Brasil e em Portugal, consideram a temática pertinente e importante para ser discutida junto aos pacientes em cuidados paliativos. Como conclusão, verificou-se que há uma necessidade acentuada de treinamento sobre legado digital para que esses profissionais possam adquirir conhecimento técnico sobre o tema e as normas das plataformas de mídias sociais e serviços online após a morte de um usuário
Today's society is increasingly interconnected through the Internet and people now store their affective, personal, intellectual, and monetary goods on online media platforms. In this context, a new concept called digital legacy is emerging. This encompasses a set of records and personal information stored on media platforms. However, this new form of storage raises questions about the destination of these assets after the user's death. In this sense, health professionals working with patients being cared for in palliative care services can play a key role in helping these patients in making decisions about their digital assets by providing information and guidance on standards and destinations for these assets. However, these professionals need to have the necessary knowledge on the subject of digital legacy to guide their patients in an appropriate way. This study aimed to investigate the knowledge of health professionals working in palliative care services in Brazil and Portugal on the subject of digital legacy. It is a quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional study. The instrument used was a questionnaire with four blocks of questions, which allowed to characterize the socio-demographic profile of the participants, to evaluate the knowledge on the theme of digital legacy, the involvement with the theme in the work environment and the need for training. The information was collected online between February and July 2020. The sample consisted of 243 professionals, most of whom were female, with an average age of 46 years. The results indicate that the professionals have little knowledge on the subject of digital legacy. There is a lack of knowledge about the concept, norms and ethical aspects that permeate the topic. It was found that professionals working in palliative care, in Brazil and Portugal, consider the topic relevant and important to be discussed with patients in palliative care. As a conclusion, it was found that there is a strong need for training on digital legacy so that these professionals can acquire technical knowledge on the subject and the standards of the platforms providing social media and online services after the death of a user
