A cidade de Ourém, localizada em Portugal, possui uma história rica que remonta à Idade Média. A sua origem está intimamente ligada à fundação do Castelo de Ourém, que desempenhou um papel fundamental no estabelecimento e desenvolvimento da localidade ao longo dos séculos.
Atualmente, Ourém destaca-se pela sua localização privilegiada no coração de Portugal, tornando-se um destino turístico atrativo. A cidade oferece aos visitantes uma combinação única de património histórico, paisagens naturais e uma riqueza cultural.
Desde os seus primórdios, a zona ribeirinha da cidade foi concebida para ser um centro de atividades culturais e comerciais, representando um ponto de desenvolvimento importante na sua história. Nesse contexto, o projeto visa reformular a malha urbana existente e revitalizar os espaços com usos rejuvenescidos. A proposta é fundamentada numa análise histórica profunda, de forma a priorizar a preservação da identidade e reestruturar o local para um elemento contemporâneo.
Perante a personalidade do lugar, o projeto consiste na conceção de um equipamento multifuncional no âmbito de uma intervenção de revitalização urbana, de modo a instituir uma nova centralidade em Ourém. Com esta abordagem, pretende-se proporcionar à cidade um novo ambiente e uma dinâmica fluente, promovendo o desenvolvimento de qualidade de vida aos seus habitantes e visitantes.
The city of Ourém, located in Portugal, has a rich history that dates back to the Middle Ages. Its origin is closely linked to the foundation of Ourém’s Castle, which played a fundamental role in the establishment and development of the city over the centuries. Currently, Ourém stands out for its privileged location in the heart of Portugal, becoming an attractive touristic destination. The city offers visitors a unique combination of historical heritage, natural landscapes, and cultural diversity. Since its early days, the riverside area of the city was conceived to be a center of cultural and commercial activities, representing a significant point of development in its history. In this context, the project aims to reshape the existing urban fabric and revitalize the spaces with rejuvenated uses. The proposal is grounded in a deep historical analysis, prioritizing the preservation of identity and restructuring the site in a contemporary element. Given the personality of the place, the project consists of designing a multifunctional facility within the scope of an urban revitalization intervention, in order to establish a new centrality in Ourém. With this approach, the goal is to provide the city with a new environment and a fluent dynamic, promoting a high quality of life for its residents and visitors.
