Resumo(s)
According to the Water Framework Directive (WFD), which requires Member States to take measures in
order to protect, enhance and restore the superficial water bodies, looking to attain a good water quality
status, the work at hand aims at assessing the ecological status of the Rio Grande water bodies, by
implementing the Predicted Ecological State methodology. This methodology allows the division of the
fluvial ecosystem in sections with homogenous features, the identification of its degradation level through
the measurement of local anthropogenic pressures and plan rehabilitation measures and actions so as to
achieve the goal set by the WFD.
