Resumo(s)
In this paper, we discuss the acquisition of structures with non-basic word order involving constituents on the left and right peripheries in European Portuguese, taking into account their syntactic and information status in both child and adult grammars. Hence, we design a Truth-Value Judgment Task to test structures with peripheral material. Our data show that there are asymmetries between (i) peripheries, explained by the differences in the syntactic status of the peripheral constituents and (ii) different types of left-peripheral arguments and different post-verbal subjects, explained by the presence of an intervener between the head and the tail of the chain.
