The singularity of the frustration of the exercise of self-determination of the Portuguese Timor, the only Portuguese territory overseas that would not be decolonized as a consequence of the 25 April 1974’s revolution, is the theme of the present study that, by adopting an historical perspective, under the broader context of the Cold War, and by introducing the conceptual framework of the Law and International Relations, will analyse in light of the facts and epistemological framework existent at the time the inevitability of such outcome.
