| dc.description.abstract | A introdução da Cirurgia Robótica, e particularmente do sistema da Vinci, é considerado por alguns um dos maiores avanços na cirurgia desde a introdução da anestesia. Apesar de esta modalidade cirúrgica estar já bastante desenvolvida em algumas especialidades, como a Urologia, a Cirurgia Cardio-Torácica, a Cirurgia Geral ou a Ginecologia, foi apenas em 2009 que a Cirurgia Robótica foi aprovada pela FDA, nos Estados Unidos da América, para o tratamento cirúrgico de Cancros de Cabeça e Pescoço. Desde então, a sua aplicação na Otorrinolaringologia tem sido alvo de um crescente interesse e investigação científica, no sentido de obter a melhor evidência científica possível e criar indicações específicas para o uso da Cirurgia Robótica nesta especialidade. O objetivo deste trabalho é abordar o papel da Cirurgia Robótica na Otorrinolaringologia, bem como particularizar a sua aplicação no tratamento do Carcinoma Pavimento-Celular da Orofaringe. Será realizada uma Revisão Narrativa da literatura científica publicada em Inglês até 2023, utilizando a PubMed como principal base de dados, com a possibilidade também da integração de livros, periódicos de notícias e vídeos que eventualmente sejam considerados relevantes para o esclarecimento do tema. O resultado pretendido com este trabalho é proporcionar uma ideia sobre as principais aplicações da Cirurgia Robótica em Otorrinolaringologia. Terá como principal foco a sua aplicação no tratamento do Carcinoma Pavimento Celular da Orofaringe, bem como uma comparação sumária da utilização da Cirurgia Robótica com outros métodos de tratamento utilizados na atualidade. | pt_PT |
| dc.description.abstract | The introduction of Robotic Surgery, and particularly of the da Vinci system, is considered by some to be one of the greatest advances in surgery since the introduction of anesthesia. Although this surgical modality is already well developed in some specialties, such as Urology, Cardio-Thoracic Surgery, General Surgery or Gynecology, it was only in 2009 that Robotic Surgery was approved by the FDA in the United States of America for the surgical treatment of Head and Neck Cancers. Since then, its application in Otorhinolaryngology has been the subject of growing interest and scientific research, in order to obtain the best possible scientific evidence and create specific indications for the use of Robotic Surgery in this area. The aim of this study is to discuss the role of Robotic Surgery in Otorhinolaryngology, as well as its application in the treatment of Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma. A Narrative Review of the scientific literature published in English up to 2023 will be carried out, using PubMed as the main database, with the possibility of also including books, news periodicals and videos that may be considered relevant to clarifying the topic. The aim of this paper is to provide an idea of the main applications of robotic surgery in otorhinolaryngology. The main focus will be on its application in the treatment of Oropharyngeal Squamous Cell Carcinoma, as well as a brief comparison of the use of Robotic Surgery with other treatment methods used today. | pt_PT |
