Num momento indeterminado do século II a.C., a inauguração de um dos compartimentos do povoado de Mesas do Castelinho é realizada mediante um depósito intencional de artefactos com origens e funções diversificadas. Associando o estudo do conjunto artefactual à estratigrafia, reconstitui‑se um dos capítulos desta história antiga de mais de dois mil anos, na qual o cenário de fundo mostra uma longa tradição e um são convívio entre os elementos exógenos e aqueles produzidos local e/ou regionalmente. Dela faz parte a caracterização do tecido social e cultural que subjaz a este episódio de depósito de artefactos.
In an uncertain moment of the II century BC, the opening ceremony of one of Mesas do Castelinho’s compartments is manifested by the intentional deposit of artefacts with different origins and functions. Putting together the artefactual set analysis with the stratigraphy, one reassembles this ancient history chapter, older than two thousand years, in which the background picture shows a long tradition and a sane companionship between the foreign and the local/regional artefacts. One characterizes the social and cultural structures that lie behind this artefact drop episode.
