Abstract(s)
angolanos e a história conceptual.
Nationalism is one of the foundational themes of modern history, starting in the West but then spreading to the non-Western world. My approach crosses different areas of knowledge, with a primary focus on history. Defined as a political principle, nationalism it sustains that the national and political unity should coincide. Nationalism is also a political awareness and patriotic sense. In Africa and in Angola particularly, the construction of nationalism is not linear, it is necessary therefore to have a profound reflection about it. Because of its colonial condition, Angolan nationalism was a means to achieve independence. The present study attempts to analyse the different actors of nationalism, the process of the construction of the idea of state and nation in the years of 1956 and 1975. This study in Angola the concept of nation was indebted to European political culture, how the independentist movements affirmed themselves and what primary strategies of awareness of the people were adopted by the Angolan elites. Two methods will be used: the prosopographical study of the political and intellectual elites of the Angolan independence movements and conceptual history.
