O presente ensaio tece considerações sobre a obra do escritor moçambicano Mia Couto, com ênfase para as questões tratadas em dois de seus romances mais representativos: Terra sonâmbula (1992) e O outro pé da sereia (2006). O ensaio mostra temas recorrentes nos romances do autor e aponta para a abertura de novos caminhos a partir da obra de 2006. Num momento em que o escritor moçambicano começa a ficar mais conhecido que a própria obra, espera-se colaborar para uma reflexão aprofundada da obra romanesca.
The essay aims to reflect about the work of the Mozambican writer Mia Couto, with emphasis to the questions brought by two of his most representative novels: Terra sonâmbula (1992) e O outro pé da sereia (2006). The essay shows themes that always appear in the author’s work and signalize new approaches that brings the 2006 novel. In a moment when the Mozambican writer begin more famous that his work, we expect to collaborate to a profound view of the author’s novels.
